Tuesday
was out watching Shutters with Hsi En, Mit and company.. knn it's fucking scary lor.. and it's a movie not to be missed.. hahaha.. can scare the shit out of u.. but a bunch of mats sitting in front spoiled the whole show lor knnccb I really hate watching movies with this kind of ppl lor. they think they damn cute. cb. was really wondering.. where have all those bengs and lians gone to? why are places like bus interchange infested with mats nowadays? i'm not being racist here k.. jus wondering why.. cos last time i always see those chinese making noise and blowing smoke polluting the air i breathe.. where have they all disappeared to? i really miss them man...

Monday Class BBQ!!
went out at 4pm to Pasir Ris park Pit O for our class BBQ.. was really a memorable day for us and it's the best ever bbq i had in my life.. me, Faz, Varun, JJ and Gib went to the seaside and chap into lovers' fav hangout and talked cock there.. i think those couples sitting there were quite pissed off with us sia hahaha.. was talking abt army life and abt girls.. sat there looking at the full moon and thought over lots of things.. haiz dun talk abt it le..

Only the guys stayed for the night and we put out the fire at 2am and proceeded to the Maze splitting into 2grps. me, Faz, Varun, QF and DY went in first and came out 10mins later with some of my blood lost to the mosquitos.. then me, Faz and Varun decided to scare the 2nd grp by throwing in a ball.. in the end me and Varun pang seh Faz and we laid our own ambush on them.. hahaha.. after tat we proceeded to the place where stunt bikers usually hangout (just beside the maze) and shared ghost stories until we fell asleep one by one.. left the place for breakfast at 630am.. Day ended with beautiful memories

Last paper: 1500hrs, 25 Nov 2004

guess my life will be more routined than usual after exams... have to draw out a timetable for my physical training. apart frm tat, i will be back at Dunman Air to continue my service to the unit considering tat the other CLTs might not be able to make it due to the 5-day work week...

i guess i have a part to play in my cadets' poor academic performance... the burden of the CCA is simply too much for a secondary3 to cope with. Standards are rising and the pressure exerted by the CO and I have jus left them neglecting their school work. I reali dun remember myself having to sacrifice my slp time on a school day for the sake of NCC... so now i guess the onli thing i can do is to help them in their sch work during the hols......

"I know it has been hard on you but the pressure u face today shall mould u into a better person that is able to cope with the pressure of working life in future."

OK guys, i've found a new hobby -- cycling. cycling on a mountain bike chiong-ing at full gear and terrorising roads like ECP and Nicholl Highway like it's mine. call police if u are not happy. sucka

as usual, went cycling with mw, alvin, tc and sq on tues nite. and as usual, i'm left behind with alvin. haha. onli thing different is i'm using a mountain bike now. forgot the route cos we are cycling too fast, onli remember we passed ECP, East Coast Park, Dunman High, closed-Nicholl Highway, Kallang River, Esplanade and ended in Lau Pa Sat. on the way back passed thru Bedok Jetty and Simei. the view at Esplanade is simply breathtaking... too bad...

Reached Esplanade frm Tampines in 1 hour. exactly 1 hour. try breaking tat suckas. Clocked a total of 50 km for the whole journey. very hiong but sipei song. wahahahhaa. wobbly legs~

woke up at 1530 on wed. did nothing till 0030. go eat supper with mw. learnt to see things in another perspective. suddenly dunno y i so hum oso leh.. see them treat girls very different leh.. hmm.. nvm.. i noe can liao. lol. reached home at 0300. haven study for physics paper 5. exam is less than 5 hrs away so decided not to slp already.. if not wake up sure cannot make it. haha

came back home at 1030 on thurs after the paper. decided not to slp already. went cycling again. tis time with fuz and qf. Destination: East Coast Park. onli cycled at 30% effort compared to what i did with mw. damn relaxing.. my body smells of banana.. wahahaha cos i applied suntan lotion. yea i'm gay. fuck u sucka. went to find kite with fuz at Pasir Ris Park cos he wanna fly it with his princess tml. does princesses like to fly kite? i dunno.. i onli noe she likes to ask mi fly kite.

clocked abt another 20 km todae. damn song. I LOVE CYLCING.
shall not blog abt unhappy things. unhappy things like i got rejected for a movie or going crazy over a girl jus bcos of a stupid dream. fuck.

my eyes are showing red threads. i have not slpt for 30+ hours liao. i need slp.
my urine is red-tea in colour now. i'm dehydrating. i need water.
my heart's aching. i'm afraid of losing u. i need u.

Some people dream of success...
While others wake up and work hard at it.

me in my Staff Sergeant days. can see clearly anot? haha

Sunday, September 05, 2004

went to meet Kim Guan todae... so long nv see him liao miss him sia.. abit guilty oso.. mi everytime so free but nv initiate to meet.. arrrr i think tis yr we meet less than 10 times nia sia.. btw for those who doesnt noe who is Kim Guan, he is my best fren since sec1 and i knew him since pri1..

I find it very interesting tat we onli bcame best frens frm sec1 when we are no longer in the same sch.. i guess it's called fate ba.. i always believe tat it's fate tat bring people together.. i can noe u very long but tat doesnt mean u'll be my gd fren leh..

we only managed to meet for less than 2hrs.. found tat we have drifted apart alittle... we cant reali open up to each other tat easily anymore ba.. seems tat we want to say many things but there seems to be a barrier leh. dunno la mayb we very long dint have a heart-to-heart talk le ba. anyway, we did manage to renew that strong friendship.

renewed friendship. what does tat mean? does tat mean friendship can expire? i think so... if friends dun meet up tat often, it's not tat easy to communicate tat easily the nxt time u meet up ba.. u might say fone calls can oso do the job. but i dun think so cos the feeling is just different. I hate it when my friend and I start to drift apart..

Friends. so how do u define tis term? do you call someone tat u just happen to know today my friend? i wont do tat i guess. to me, friends are people tat will go though thick and thin with you and can communicate with u well. for the rest, i'll just say I know him instead of he's my friend.

Do you think friends are impt in ur life? I always believe friends are impt... not those that come and go in ur life, but those tat will stay. Parents are ones who bring u up but they wont be there when u leave tis world, whereas friends will. Ask youself tis qn, have u found a friend tat will die for u? or is there one tat u'll die for? if u wan a friend to have tis kind of attitude towards u, u better do it first.

Do u rank your friends in order of importance? or does ur boyfriend/girlfriend always comes first? At tis age, i dun like the idea of ppl putting their boy/girlfriend in first priority. it's not tat i dun have a girlfriend before lor.. juz tat i dun believe ur boy/girlfriend will be with u forever.

do u accept people of the opposite sex as ur good friend tat easily? i think tat once u treat members of the opposite sex as ur gd fren, it is difficult for him/her to be ur girl/boyfriend. as the door of friendship opens up, the door to love closes. which is the reason why i tend to hold back when it comes to girls. anyway tat's only my opinion.

so, wat do u think?

Your answers suggest you are a Realist

Summary of Realists

  • Loyal and steady workers who meet deadlines
  • Believe in established rules and respect facts
  • Think of themselves as mature, stable and conscientious
  • May appear too logical or tough-minded and forget their impact on other people

More about Realists

Realists are loyal to the people around them and work hard to keep their promises. They are honest and straightforward with others and expect the same in return. Realists believe in standard procedures and will only support change when there is a demonstrable benefit.

Realists respect factual information, which they store up to use when making decisions. This group likes to have time to think quietly and carefully before taking action.

These extremely productive people like to be occupied in their leisure time with pursuits such as craftwork, hiking or reading.

In situations where they can't use their talents or are unappreciated, Realists may become obsessed with schedules, critical of others or have trouble trusting other people to get the job done properly. Under extreme stress, Realists may complain loudly that events have taken a turn for the worse and predict negative outcomes.

Realists typically only share their opinions or personal experiences with trusted friends.

Realist Careers

Realists are attracted to jobs where decision making based on factual knowledge and experience is required.

ok.. today i'm going to post something on leadership.. got tis article frm Recruit section of The Straits Times by a well-known management writer Peter Drucker and i find it very useful. here are extracts of the article:

To effectively manage the increasing complexity of organisational life, it may be more important for leaders to ask questions than to give answers.

Such a statement is likely to turn the conventional concept of leadership on its head. The stereotypical leader is a tough guy, seldom in doubt and with the whole gameplan all mapped out. All that is needed now is for the rest of his troops to fall in line. The leader of the past is the person who knows how to tell and the leader of the future is the person who knows how to question.

Why ask?

  • Questions get us valuable information.

With changes happening constantly, leaders really need to be updated or run the risk of making decisions based on inaccurate or wrong assessments. By asking the right kind of questions, you examine the issues in greater depth. When a leader asks meaningful questions, he is seeking both facts and feelings.

  • Questions stimulate thinking and creativity.
A powerful question has an effect on the mind and will inspire you into thinking for answers.

At a recent sales meeting, the sales manager were upset by the aggressive price actions of their competitors. All of them recommended to drop prices punitively.

Finally, the manager asked: "What will be the final outcome if we all engage in a price war?"

There was silence. The meeting soon went on to explore other counter measures that they could take to regain their market position.

  • Questions drive commitment.

Most people have pride in their ability to manage their own situations and therefore do not like to be told what to do. If you tell them what they should do, chances of acceptance will be low. They may go along with you, but there will be little commitment. Worse, if telling is your style, they may develop a sense of dependency. In other words, they will come running to you for solutions each time they encounter a problem.

If you now ask him for the solution instead, the effect can be quite dramatic. Imagine having to think for oneself for a change!

By applying the questioning technique in a consistent and respectful way, he will soon realise that you expect him to think through the challenges and develop ideas and options of his own.

As these ideas are his, his sense of ownership will help him see through their execution.

  • Questions get people to persuade themselves.

When someone is in a dilemma about something, listen to him and judiciously raise some clarifying questions. You will be surpirsed when he appears to have sorted things out at the end of the conversation.

What you have done is to act as a sounding board, playing back to him issues and ideas that he is grappling with. The decision that he finally comes to may even be similar to what you may have recommended in the first place.

But as he comes to it on his own, he feels that he is in the driver's seat when he persuades himself about what he should do.

  • Questions connect you to the organisation.

Leaders who want to feel the pulse of their people need to find time to go out, mingle and ask questions.

The very act of asking a concerned question changes the relationship between an employer and employee, creating a more empathetic and egalitarian workplace. The employee will feel good as he is being heard.

_____________________________________

I always believe a powerful leader is someone who has an attitude problem. Yes, attitude problem. He is one who dares to challenge authority (of course only when he thinks it's right and had considered the consequences). I have read of cases of great leaders (I forgot who) who dared to stage strikes and and oppose teachers when they were young. I dun see anything wrong with tat.

Also, I believe a good leader is one who is willing to sacrifice for his followers and come to the level of his followers. I always tell my cadets that in a hierarchy system, there is the so-called leader up there and then followed by people under his charge. Although the leader has his own roles and responsibility, it is impt tat he comes to the level of his followers to understand their role and help them personally when problems arise. If you remain there as the mighty leader that u think u are, what will the followers see when they look up the hierarchy system?

They will only see an asshole.

wahaha.. tis is the slackest and most colourful wkend i ever had man.. had lots of fun and new experiences arnd with JJ and Liwei (Fri) and with Eugene and Liwei (Sat)

Wanted to buy the Total 90 at first but saw a very nice pair of Adidas Pulsado Indoor later at another shop so i decided to buy tat. Liwei tried to get away frm her as far as possible and we were laughing all the way sia. den later in the MRT we saw a 20+ yr old girl wearing a low cut top and her hands like squeezing in between her chest oso dunno wat she wanna show. lol. JJ went over to sit beside her so tat we had a chance to have a closer look. wahahaha then we were laughing like siao kias in the MRT like nobody's business. hope we wont get blacklisted at MRT stations sia. hahahahahaha
