Once, someone asked me what pleasure i took in riding for so long. "Pleasure?" I said. "I don't understand the question." I didn't do it for pleasure. I did it for pain.

update for the week... witnessed the greatest change in my NS life.. Combat Engineer i'm no more.. Guardsman soon to-be.. dunno whether to be happy or not.. seems like i made a wrong decision in going there. no doubt, Guards is an elite formation of the SAF but i'm there as a pioneer and not a pure Guardsmen... they gave me a feeling tat they see us Engineers no up leh.. haiz i guess we are the true saikang warriors down there.. no wonder there's no regular Pioneer Platoon Sergeant in the coy.. anyway Guards Conversion Course is in March nxt yr.. we must prove our worth to them!

we had a Happy Hour on our 2nd day there.. it's their tradition to have a different kind of gathering every month and we had a steamboat dinner in the Mess this time. prior to the happy hour, we heard stories of the CSM as a heavy drinker and was nicknamed "mad dog". true enough, we were made to drink. first up was a jug of Tiger (4 cans) accompanied with 5 straws. that was jus the appetiser. nxt up was 4 jugs of coke + Guinness with lots of ice cubes.. we were split into 2 teams and had to down the mixture in the shortest possible time. siao lor ended up with our throats freezing. then came the jug of Guinness with straws.. luckily tat was the last for us. Ben, our Pioneer PS, was the man-of-the-day.. haha.. he was handed a can of Guinness shook by everyone of us and the best part was tat he had to drink by poking a hole on the can. i wonder how does it feel like to have beer squirting down ur thoat... i really hand it to Ben.. he did it in style.

btw today is payday! so eager to see how much my pay is.. it's only $520! damn disgusted at the figure.. I AM A SPECIALIST NOW and why r u still giving me Coporal pay? made us shout tat for fun during the rank presentation issit? and why is it tat Guards NSF pay is the same as Infantry? arent we elite warriors? puiiiiiiii

something that i want to share with u guys frm the book i jus bought today by Lance Armstrong, 7-time winner of Tour de France and cancer survivor.

"... I'm sure you'd like to hear about how Lance Armstrong became a Great American and an Inspiration To Us All, how he won the Tour de France, the 2,290-mile road race that's considered the single most grueling sporting event on the face of the earth. You want to hear about faith and mystery, and my miraculous comeback, and how I joined towering figures like Greg LeMond and Miguel Indurain in the record book. You want to hear about my lyrical climb through the Alps and my heroic conquering of the Pyrenees, and how it felt. But the Tour was the least of the story."

wahaha.. waited quite long for tis day to come.. finally ended my trainee life!! it's already 8 mths... 8 mths in the army and i've not achieved anything still. haha. anyway we had our last cohesion day today at the Specialists' Mess and we had hell lots of fun.. everybody went wild.. the organisers tried to involve everybody in games like pool, winning eleven competition and karaoke but it was not very successful as the queue was damn long.. until the beer drinking competition started..

it really got everybody going. first we had the section competiton where each section have to come out with 4 men and the best timing wins. and we got 2nd! the mess became noisy like fuck lor.. heh.. den after tat all the bayonet holders went solo followed by the instructors. tat was when all the siao-ness came in.. they started with a normal mug size den to the giant mug 3X bigger and finally upgraded to a pail! fucking funny la.. imagine placing a container normally used for washing on ur mouth.. hahaha.. even the OC and all the warrent officers were not spared.. the whole lot of 70 ppl drank 6 barrels altogether lor. fucking crazy ppl hahaha

heh.. finally got the pics frm Ben.. taken in Thailand...

first mission.. 7km casualty evacuation. i look so garang rite

taking a break after first mission. high morale

all 4 missions accomplished. totally shagged out.

nowadays ah cannot anyhow post info online ah.. esp sensitive info abt the army.. although it's the truth.. hahaha.. oso dunno who the fuck is reading la later kena caught go DB den ho seh... lol

was dragged to watch harry porter by tohchen and shuqi yesterday.. watched the 2330 show at CS.. $9.50 for a movie is fucking expensive man.. anyway tis is my first time watching harry porter so obviously i dunno wat the fuck was going on.. i dun even read the book..go there watch effects and laugh at the gayness of the show.. hahaha lame lor

This weekend is a very fulfilling one.. early bookout and late book-in on monday night makes one's morale high.. hahaha.. i love having lots of time in my hands.. can plan to go out relax and walk arnd ba long long with friends.. heh..

met up with guan on fri nite at my hse talk cock discuss abt alot of things den spent the whole sat with shuqi and tohchen.. 1 red beret, 1 kaki beret and 1 blue beret get together sure got alot of cock to talk.. went orchard rd walk arnd ba long long until we were damn shagged out after 3hrs.. settled at Taka basement for dinner.. spent less than $10 each for some jap food which was exceptionally nice.. after tat went to eat donuts tat tasted like crap and icecream for dessert.. eat eat eat like there's no tomorrow.. wahahaha

shuqi is now in 1 Guards... and it happen tat there's also an intake for Field Engineers to 1 Guards for my batch leh.. after hearing him say so much, i guess it's not a bad place afterall.. posted there shld be quite zo bo lan and the GCC shld be quite a relaxed one for support ppl.. and the plus point is tat it's shifting to Bedok camp.. hehehe let's hope i get posted there ba.. dun mind wearing sandbag on my head.

went squashing with kiat haw at safra today and i played like a cock.. mayb it's due to the lack of slp after watching movie the previous nite.. cannot concentrate at all.. go there waste time waste money nia.. zzz. made my way to uncle's hse frm simei and concussed straight away when i reach there.. damn sleepy..

arh did i mention yesterdae was charity day for me? donated $20 to singapore pools.. go shade the wrong box... sianz half.. made myself look like a noob in soccer betting lol

Monday, November 14, 2005

Finally back from Thailand!! wahaha.. very relieved to be back in Singapore... not saying tat Thailand is a terrible place but i jus miss everything back home... Nevertheless, the trip to Thailand was a fulfilling one and I really learnt alot from the officers-to-be and from adverse terrains..

Our section of 5 specs and 4 cadets bonded quite well except for 2 assholes who really put the name of the specialists to shame. fucking tulan every fuck shit oso dunno den dun wan to learn. oso dunno go there for fuck lor.

anyway training there was quite xiong as compared to Singapore but the cadets certainly dont think so. thailand was like a vacation to them.. Our section did well for all the exercises in the 4D3N outfield but buay song-ness started in the 3D2N of Beaver Venture.. oso dunno y ppl are so weak mentally la.. i noe walking 70km in FBO very xiong la but everybody is oso walking wat.. why cannot think positively and endure thru it happily? never even contribute in the missions lor. anyway the highlight was the 7km casulty evacuation under the hot sun. wat an orgasmic experience.

hai.. started thinking how come i din make it as an officer again when the cadets assured me of my qualities as a leader... it got worse when i heard tat my section mate frm SISPEC might be crossing over frm ASLC! it's like WTF when i heard tat it was him.. i'm very sure it would have been me if i'm still there for ASLC.. why is fate playing with me? am I really destined to be a spec?

other than the knowledge taken home, i guess i start to notice small little things in life and also looking at a bigger picture of life.... hmm... dun really noe how to explain... anyway the current problem in hand is the end of my trainee life.. where will i go next? do i still want to wear the blue beret or swap for a green one back in infantry? thinking of going to infantry but tat would mean making new frens all over again unlike most of my compatriots who would be going to 30 SCE... how?

aye.. we'll see how it goes.

I may never march in the Infantry, ride in a Calvary, shoot in Artillery
I may never fight over Air and Sea, but I'm from Engineers~

Friday, October 21, 2005

tis week was the most shag week in my SOCE life.. or rather my morale was just low.. very sick and tired of tat place already... i feel tat my reputation over there is quite bad.. it's jus tis bad feeling.. maybe i'm not satisfied with my own performance or wat.. i dunno... haiz..

represented SOCE for squash and got 3rd for the team event.. dunno whether i'm jus plain lousy or wat.. jus cant perform up to my own standard during a competition.. dun like the pressure ppl give mi when i play.. to me it's jus a game and i wan to enjoy it.. but why are there ppl who are so stubbornly keen on winning tat they will critisize u and play u down instead of giving u encouragement.. i really have doubts over tat person's character.. got extra trophy but ppl nv say give him then he jus took it like he really deserves it lor... fucking idiot. surprisingly it was Shawn (the national player) who gave me all the encouragement and spurred me on... really grateful to him.. anyway that competition was really an eye-opener cos we had a national player in our team and some old SAFSA players who plays a different game compared to the younger players.

1 more week before i leave tis land. pls tell mi how am i going to conquer my fear.

Friday, October 07, 2005

super fucked up.. actually got alot of happy things to blog last week but blogger was down and tis week i'm back with lots and lots of shit... i have jus broken the record of taking 3 confinements and 2 extra duties in a single week..

oso dunno why so suay sia... first day of the new course we exchanged our training passes with a new serial number and i lost it in less than a day! fucking cheebye somemore the places that i might have lost it were jus the bunk, staircases and lecture room nia but still cannot find.. oso dunno y so suay.. need to pay $50 replacement fee plus 3 confinements.

the stupidest thing happened on wed.. it was night's out day and we came back early.. stayed in bunk relac and we forgot to sign the book in/out book until it was almost time for all to come back so we went down to the office topless.. it was all okay in the office lor but we jus stupidly walked to the lift instead of the nearest staircase after signing and got caught by some fucka la.. knn 2 extras leh.. wonder how am i going to finish all tis b4 Cresendo... haiz...

this sums up my whole week.

Friday, September 23, 2005

ok new posting is out.. i'm going to be a Field Engineer... hmm.. nvm la tell u all wat is Field Engineer u all oso dunno... might as well dun say Zzzz

going to Thailand on 31 Oct for a 2-week exercise. really dunno if i can survive... temperatures can be as high as 38deg in the day and as low as 15 at night. gonna climb up and down hills as high as 100m with a full jerry can(15kg?) and maintaining 5-point contact when going downhill, which basically mean that sliding down is the only way down.

and the good new is we have 2 days of R&R (Rest & Relax). Can see all the bapo we wan. high sia. cb

Saturday, September 17, 2005

WAHAHA I got silver for my IPPT! had to put in some effort for this $100 unlike the time in SISPEC where it was much easier. results wasnt as good as before due to too many visits to the mess and slack training but still glad tat i've already have at least a silver in my records. money claims will only be submitted for those ppl with Gold and the rest have to Go again until the end of this work year. so now i must train harder for a Gold before the end of tis work yr. hope can get another $100 leh

I have calculated. the total worth of my family assets is less than $60k. looking at tis figure i'm really worried. wat's going to happen 5 years down the road? are we going to be penniless? I have to do something. I want everybody at home to live in comfort. I must start learning to produce the money-making machine now. i'm not going to be the money-making machine. but which way shld i go? i dun have much resources for mistakes. a decision has to be made. my father has jus reached the retirement age. life is going to be hard. but i love the challenge ahead of me.

Sunday, September 11, 2005

ok.. finally able to sit down and blog peacefully.. computer was down due to a minor porblem which i thought was very serious. was suspecting a problem with my harddisk, motherboard or graphics card, in the end was the stupid IDE cable nia. no wonder ppl say go army will become stupid

last update was a month ago so i gonna summarise all the "exciting" events in one entry...

first up was Exercise Nutcracker. tis was the last outfield exercise in SISPEC where we had to dig, dig and dig with helmet on for safety purposes. 2 people must dig a hole chest-level abt 7m in length. digged for 2 days 2 nights without any sleep at all and injured my hand which until today still haven recover. worst thing was we had to march back abt 5km after the exercise with our Full Battle Order (abt 17kg) in the heavy rain... thinking back i really dunno how i survived it..

last activity before graduating frm BSLC was the 32km route march. it's another test of our physical and mental strength as we marched thru the nite frm 9pm to 6am. it was like an endless road with ppl not cooperating (shag cannot think wad). had to encourage each other on and remind them not to fall aslp during breaks as it would be very difficult to get going again. as usual the weather was against us again. it rained at 2am and we had to change the route which resulted in us walking more. as they said, "36th BSLC wat, so must walk 36km lor"

Life in Tekong ended jus like tis. as usual, i did not achieve my objective of going to OCS even though i graduated frm BSLC as top 10% of Foxtrot company. asked my PC why wasnt i chosen for the interview, he gave mi a very simple answer tat my physical fitness is fucked up OCS sure dun wan mi one. ok lor hope i stay for ASLC and continue fighting for it lor. in the end i got posted out to Combat Engineers. cheebye

so now i'm leading a whole new life at School of Combat Engineers (SOCE). it's until i got to tat place and saw the Officer Cadets train and i got to a conclusion tat officers are really no big deal except they are a bunch of fit and obedient bastards. like wat Warrent Lim say, officers of our army dunno their groundwork well. the reason why officers are so respected is bcos of armies in other countries where soldiers have to work their way up frm a sergeant to warrent officer then finally convert to a commision officer, which is not the case for singapore (mayb only for Commandos and Divers). so why are Specialists better? we are bonded closer to our men and know our stuff well. sometimes even officers have to ask us how to do things. and i still believe tat even though i'm only BSLC-trained, i can lead those sucka OCTs out for patrol missions and fuckin make them concuss. so mayb we shld slowly change the idea that being an officer is far better than Specialist. as long as u can influence ur men, produce desired results and high morale, u are a good leader. and i shld accept that i'm not fated to be an officer... open mouth only all vulgarities liao where got officer like tat one?

With Pride I Lead.

Today is the nation's birthday.. din expect hsi en, jansen, qiuhui to celebrate a belated birthday for me.. quite shocked when i saw Jansen carrying a cake in his hands sia.. haha jus wan to say a BIG Thank You to u guys... haha and Mit tat shirt looks quite familiar leh thanks ah.. hehe

Friday, July 29, 2005

this year has more downs than ups for me.. lousy A lvl grades resulted in me not being able to enrol in a university (I deserve it for not working hard), poor management of finance (buying lots of things which i dun actaully need), rejection by Air Force, working so hard in SISPEC and not crossing over to OCS...

lots of shit thrown at me but it's going to make me a better man.. I believe i can still make it to OCS for term 2 if i work harder on my physical fitness.. the fact that only 15% of the cohort got A grade for Qualities (10% of them are gone, which makes me the top 5% now), i have a higher chance nxt term.. jus hope tat even if i dun make it to SAFTI in the end, i can get a silver bayonet.

looking forward to my 19th birthday.

I will not fall.
after all the mind games u played with me like it's confirmed tat i'm going to OCS, now tis is the result i get. thnx for all the high hopes u given me leh Warrent Chua nbcb

dunno how am i going to get over tis but i have to be strong to get through. got so much shit the previous 3 days as the LSM (Leader Sergeant Major, Company IC in other words) and so many ppl said i'm the best LSM they seen and i confirm will go OCS, now have to drag my ass back to tekong again. but on the brighter side i'm the best left in the platoon now... or am i going to face more idiots now?? ccb

Laugh at me.

Sunday, July 24, 2005

back after a xiong week outfield... summary exercise was a success for me and i experienced things that can never be found in urban life.

first of all, PC followed me when i was the Sect Comd for the mission! was feeling so happy inside cos this would only mean 2 things: either i'm of OCS calibre or too fucked up till he needs to access me personally. hahaha so which category do u think i fall into?

did well for mission as PC said i noe my drills well, my voice is loud enough and able to lead my section of 6 men with high morale. however crossing of danger areas still need improvement and i didnt do my part of navi well.. nearly brought my men to hor lan in 2 occasions lol. he gave me a rating of 5 out of 10. damn fucking happy. So, if everything goes well and PC closes one eye on my fucked up physical fitness, i might be fucking off frm tekong for good.

and tis is the first time in my army life tat i'm having a field camp in a really forested area. previously in BMT we had it at rubber plantation, oil palm and reclaimed land where there's nothing interesting at all.. now, we get to see tis particular wild boar every night coming to steal our rations and we have to think of ways to prevent our field packs being stolen. other than tat, i got to see a colony of ants crossing a road and 2 ants fighting a baby scorpion (2X size of ant) and lifting it back to their camp after emerging victorious. after so many encounters with ants, i really think they are better fighters den us humans. they work fast and fight hard for their survival unlike humans who are so fucking lazy.

Have anybody seen the reflection of a rainbow casting on the canopy of trees in a misty forest?

it's damn fucking nice.

Sunday, July 17, 2005

long time nv post liao.. as usual la SISPEC training so xiong where got time.. but alot of interesting things happen there and i get to learn alot frm ppl there.. anyway i'm jus back frm a week of crazy training.. was made the Leader Platoon Sergeant (platoon IC in other words) frm mon to thurs so i had a busy time pushing ppl to fall-in and getting instuctions frm those stupid regulars who cant do shit. got myself into tat position not bcos i'm so gd but bcos i talked back and argued with my sgt the other day.. haha anyway i proved to him my point tat i can do a better job.

i really think my platoon suck. a fight nearly broke out on fri over COMBAT RATIONS. tis section complain tat they got alot of the sucky menu and demanded a change. then tis other section thinks they were really childish to argue over combat rations and here and there until a fight nearly took place. come to think of it, i think i made the right choice by not entertaining them. bunch of fucking idiots.

went outfield to practise for the last 2 days to practise our fire and movement against enemies and some quick attack. at the rate and standard we are going, i think we will definitely die if there is a war.. and the problem is not dying under enemy fire, but under own fire. all shag dunno how to think.. run run run until cross into the line of fire of own section mate den clusterfuck in the open space when they see obstacles in frnt. *shakes head*

will be going off for a 4D3N summary exercise of wat we learned tis tern frm tis wed onwards. it's called Exercise Catwalk. nice name.

anyway do u all realise tat the recent SAF deaths in the news happened on wednesdays?
an interesting conversation captured in the lecture room between Warrent Maran and a Golf trainee who entered our room by mistake.

(Golf trainee enters and got a shock after looking at so many unfamiliar faces)

2WO Maran: Hi, who are u looking for?
Golf trainee: erm... sir, is this Golf company?
2WO Maran: Ooo you are from Golf company.. so where's ur golf stick? I also like to play golf.
Golf trainee: ........
2WO Maran: (smiles at him) son, i think u've entered the wrong room. we are frm pork chop company.

Golf trainee stands there for some time trying to figure out wat does pork chop means and left without a word.

I guess he must be feeling damn stupid after speaking so long with an old man frm Foxtrot company.

Saturday, July 02, 2005

back after a wk of xiong training.. this is getting really xiong.. had 2 navigation exercises (Gypsy 1&2), learned alot of things and got myself 2 really fucked up grp members tat will only hinder my progress... knnccb y am i in SISPEC with a bunch of idiots.. haiz

was so proud of myself when i got the highest marks for Basic Navigation practical test but found tat u really need members tat are willing to chiong all the way with u on ground.. really dunno wat to say abt the 2 of them.. can do 20 pull-ups but fucking weak mentally, so wat's the fucking use? i can only do 7 but can walk 30km with a signal set, who's a better soldier? i rather walk by myself la.

in my previous entry i mentioned Foxtrot is the most xiong coy in SISPEC but i think i'm wrong.. mayb it's the most fucked up coy.. they do things without proper system and worst of all there are afew really fucked up instructors tat treat people like garbage (take note tat at least shit can be used to fertilise plants but garbage is worse).. 1 sgt got so angry with a trainee tat he took up his chair and threw it at the same time scolding, "U FUCKING BLOODY CHEEBYE U DUN DESERVE TO BE A MAN. GO AND DIE! UNDERSTAND ANOT? GO AND DIE FUCKING CHEEBYE" another said tat my section got a fucked up instructor.

i wonder wat are those fucking cheebyes made of. sad

Sunday, June 26, 2005

training is getting real xiong in SISPEC... assigned to Foxtrot company which is renowned to be the most xiong company in SISPEC.. but quite proud to be inside la cos i think it will really train me to be a man... but quite demoralised when i see so many idiots taking the same course with me.. i dun think they deserve to even go thru the training lor.. and some instructors who look worse than recruits... haiz

met up with alvin, mw, toh chen yesterdae nite.. toh chen really changed alot.. and he's 1 of the few commando selected to go OCS.. Commando Officer-to-be.. really respect him to the max man

i must strive to work harder.

ok.. went to meet kiat haw in the noon den met jeff at night.. as usual i talked abt my experience in the army and the both of them said a similar statement tat really woke mi up frm my idea.. hmm...

"if everyboby wants to be officer, than who will be the sergeant?"

hmm.. suddenly i remembered alot tat was being said during my BMT days.. i'm here as a soldier now and no matter wat rank i am, i still have a part to play to protect my country and my loved ones..

a Captain once said tis,
"we may not have gone thru a war in tis generation, but i'm sure we don't need one to remind us how we suffered during the Japanese Occupation."

whatever comes i will accept. and i will do it with pride.

Saturday, June 04, 2005

i'm back again.. slightly earli tis wk due to the off-day given to the Drill com champions.. actualli shld bookout last nite but since u noe how good BMTC is, i only managed to bookout tis morning at 0700.. last wk of BMT life already gonna miss those suckas.. haiz tis is wat we call life

had the 24km graduation march on tues but i din complete it.. stomach felt funny in the late morning and found tat i'm too sick to do the march when we set off.. so too bad had to give up on the 4km checkpoint.. the feeling really suck when i see my platoon marching off without me... haiz i shldnt have started the march at all.. after tat received the great news tat i have to redo the 24km during the block leave and it will be carried out in the stadium's track.. 24km only 60 rounds la wont die one wad..

wed was a slping day for those suckas to recover frm the 24km while it's a day for mi to recover frm my illness.. had fever at nite.. took panadol and went on a high.. the whole bunk was tsunami-ed by ourselves.. had a great time fooling arnd even thou i was sick.. quite a few ppl had fever and went to see the MO den fall out say wad sun too hot smlj.. i say fuck u pussies u dun deserve to be a man. sick cannot walk ah? sick can die?

thurs morning was my re-IPPT.. still feeling slightly feverish but i still made it.. pulled 6 times and i'm so happy.. OC was there and he scolded mi when i came down.. he asked mi why i pulled 6 onli when i had the strength to pull 8.. haha i think i got attitude problem.. but given the half-fuck standard everyone gave, i can easily pull 8 for him lor... had BAC in the afternoon.. the course is very simple but the condition is super fucked up.. ankle-deep water was poured in the area we crawled in and everybody was soaked in mud water and we smelt like shit and i mean it. had hell of a time washing the clothes after tat

had SOC on fri.. din achieve my target to run under 10:30 due to my illness but i completed with my number tag on.. meaning i cleared every obstacle and i cleared it with jus 1 try.. happy like fuck.

SHAG IS FOR PUSSIES.

Saturday, May 28, 2005

the time now is 1940.. and in 2hrs time i'm booking in again.. tio guard duty on sunday.. fucking cb kena sabo by section mates cos mi and my buddy Rosz chao geng during the field camp din do.. lan lan have to do cos we deserve it la... the thing tat made mi tulan is bcos i had to do Remedial Training todae for failing my IPPT.. knn tulan with myself and the fucking instructions.. sat must do RT den fucking tell ppl on fri nite.. dunno wtf is wrong with the officers in Hawk company.. tulan with myself cos i can fuckin pull 6 times during normal chin-up regime but always do 5 only during the real test.. knn fucking tulan. ppl bookout at 1330 i bookout at 1730. ppl book in on sunday 1900 i book in on sat 2300. so fun

going to be the last wk in BMTC already.. i wan to get the fuck out of tat fucked up place. tis wk coming up: Battle Assault Course, 24km route march, re-IPPT (for me) and SOC. hope i can survive

something gd for today's Games Day.. i took part in the Drill Competition.. din expect to win cos i think the team suck like shit lor. but the other teams more suck lor lol. Cougar practised for a mth while we practised only for a wk and they got 2nd.. how fair can tis world be.. hahaha. nonetheless, the prize for us is 1day off during our block leave. and to perform again during POP for the parents to see. manawueng

i wan to fuck off frm BMTC.

Monday, May 23, 2005

back again.. 4th bookout only and i'm going to POP in 2wks time.. time flies man and i gonna miss those bastards of my section.. haiz

army is getting really disappionting for me.. i think SIT test is really a big piece of fuck crap. made mi feel like i'm in a orientation camp.. get a group of stangers together and expect them to work together in harmony lor... and it's fucking fake, like how to cross a simulated river with supposedly "floating" blocks on the floor.. tat is really WAT THE FUCK lor wasting my time cos i cant fucking imagine sqaure wood blocks on the floor floating for fuck's sake. every mission is a screwed up one for mi cos the plan is jus too simple for mi to imagine tat it can be done lor.. i hope tis wont affect my chance of going OCS..

and my chance of signing on with airforce is oso gone.. din pass the interview cos the interviewer asked me why my results so terrible.. fucking cb why do ppl always like to judge ppl by their grades? mayb my IPPT Cat test played a part too.. backside itchy go anyhow do and fail 3 stations lor... nvm la mayb i shld jus join the SAFO warriors. (Serve And Fuck Off)

jus received a rejection letter frm NUS... haiz.. life's like tat.. let's look forward to something great soon

Monday, May 09, 2005

back frm field camp.. got happy things oso got sad things.. but b4 i start i have a feeling tat my blog is getting damn fucking boring bcos everything i blog nowadays are all abt army.. getting damn uncivilised.. already very jialat liao now in army worse, come out only down there kpkb.. see ppl study in mac i oso buay song down there kp them like my house.. hahaha

yea field camp is absolutely fun as this is the only time in life u get to spend days in the jungle slping with insects and mosquitos under cramped area.. great bonding with the section and our sect commander.. everydae got lessons we will do a chop chop one den slack down there talk cock where no officers can see us.. den at nite sure got time to set fire and cook food.. down there bastard one another damn shiok.. the first 5 days was damn relaxing until the time we reach the reclaimed land....

there was a thunderstorm on tat day where we were supposed to dig our shellscrape (a hole large enough for u to slp inside; in other words means ur own grave). i can tell u it is damn fucking xiong digging in the rain.. jus imagine digging a hole tat is knee-length deep.. rain mixed with sweat doesnt taste gd at all.. but nobody gave up and some even went to help our bunkmates.. it's really a test of our character and i'm really impressed with some of them.. summed up field camp with the BIC (Battle Innoculation Course) where we have to leopard crawl thru a distance of 70m to the enemy under fire frm the machine gun.. the idea here is to simulate a real war scene but it's damn fake la.. and 70m seems like an never ending path lor.. many of us have the thought of giving up but the OC's words spurred us on.. he said, "jus concentrate on getting to the enemy and kill him, or tat motherfucker will come and rape ur loved ones". xiong it is but i always remember our platoon motto TOUGH TIMES DON'T LAST, TOUGH MEN DO.

and the sad thing is... our sect comm Sgt Rashid is leaving us going back to Golf Coy.. thought he will be attached to us till the end of our BMT.. he is the only decent Sgt i see in BMTC and the closest man to us... our section was really affected by the news as he is the man tat bonded the section.. haiz i really dunno how will our morale be in the coming weeks without him... anyway half of the BMT is gone... very soon we have to go our separate ways liao...

why do we have to meet in the first place?

i'm back again.. tis time back as a stronger man.. wahaha I CONQUERED MY FEAR OF HEIGHTS for the SOC! yea.. everytime i book-in i will tell myself to book-out a stronger man than before and i have done it.. muahaha dunno how i did it oso.. mayb it's the webbing tat made me heavier and more stable.. or is it bcos of my magical Gortex boots? wahahaha i'm the only Recruit to wear tat boots.. damn xia lan leh. hmm.. still need to work hard on the Low Rope station.. need to get the technique right.. I wan to pass my SOC!

had range on mon-wed.. quite tiring cos ended very late.. 1st day lights out 0230 and 2nd day 0100 but overall it's very fun and the night shoot is an eye-opener man.. all those flashing targets and the tracer rounds.. meaning every shot u can see red light on the spot the shot landed.. and i shot abt a 100 rounds! not something to be proud of cos i failed for the first few times.. knn all due to faulty magazines and targets (there's nothing wrong with my skill lol)

something happened on thurs really affected me... a helicopter landed on the field beside the Medical Centre.. tat's not a sight tat i want to see.. cannot say too much cos i'm a soldier.. hope tat person is alrite now.. heard that there was another one on friday... haiz dunno wat's wrong with the weather this few days.. hope nothing will happen during my field camp

anyway my field camp is coming up on Tuesday 030505. will only be back at 100505. miss me suckas

Sunday, April 24, 2005

ok finally back frm my 16-day confinement.. feels great to be back at home.. but BMTC isnt too bad too.. i'm in Hawk company, the slackest ever company u can find in BMTC1.. nothing much to talk abt as this is the 7th year i've been thru tis kind of regimental life... yawnz... can u believe tat in tis 16 days we only did a session of 5BX (basic exercises), 2 stand-by area (meaning we get to slp during every area-cleaning period), 1 chin-up regime before meal and only knock it down once and it's during BCCT (Basic Close Combat Training). i think my sergeants really cannot make it man.. cannot give proper drill commands only know how to give unclear instructions.. even the PTI and BCCT instructor command more respect frm us lor... wasting my time those suckas... lucky my section commander still can make it and my PC is a great leader

as usual la.. u will say i only noe how to critisise ppl lor.. mayb NCC train me till too power liao.. so far nothing to learn.. mayb i have to learn how to tolerate ba.. ppl down there really have got no fucking sense of urgency lor.. kena scolded by my platoon mates for the first few days when the sergeant ask us how long we need to change to smart4.. i say 5mins and they need 15mins... so frm tat day onwards i only open my mouth during emergencies... knn really have to adapt frm NCC life to BMTC Hawk Coy life.. hahaha but so far so good.. however i very scared SOC.. knn i'm afraid of heights.. must learn to conquer tat fear oso.. arbo how to do the SOC marathon in OCS man.. hmmm... so far so good.. still quite well received by my platoon mates.. heh

ok la so much for the army.. i'm really looking forward to go outfield.. bookout oso sian.. nobody want to date me.. hahaha ok lights out.

Got no time to see big boobs ah
but got time to kiwi boots yah

LOL

moved on with a full stomach and we happened to stumble upon some restricted area tat we dun think is visited for many yrs.. it was the old Fisherman's Village.. went in to explore and saw some stone buildings.. quite spooky lucky the sky was still bright.. NCC taught us Adventurous Spirit so we must use.. wahaha

last stop was the Musical Fountain.. as i said our timing was so right tat the moment we stepped in the emcee started talking.. it was very unlike the last one tat i saw erm.. 8? yrs ago.. nevertheless, it's one great experience...... went back to Harbour Front and went to the shopping centre to continue with our kp-ing.. kp alot but bought nothing.. lol then went back home liao lor...... tis is one day i'll nv forget

went to town with Kim Guan today.. main aim was to chiong the World of Sports sale at PS and Wisma but ended up with nothing cos those suckas actaully kept all the gd stuff and put all those shitty shit for sale... wahaha doesnt matter cos i dun intend to buy anyway. Guan wanted to buy a And1 bball shorts cos he say $20 nia.. den i say "u sell mi 10 cents i oso dun wanna buy lor" wahaha dunno y i so anti tat sport.. well i think tat's me ba.. any word tat contains "NM, MLM, bball, cigarettes" better dun come tell me.. lol

happened to drop by Times at PS and decided to go in.. even they are having 20% sales, so we went in and i asked the salesman to see whether the books i want are available... and i got it!! the title is "Unlimited Power" by Anthony Robbins.. tat time went Tampines but cannot find de.. it's a self-motivation book advising u on a successful life (note tat i use the word "advise" instead of "teach"). However i still cant find the book titled "Against the Gods" at Times (the last time i saw it was at Kino). i think Times really suck lor oso dunno why i became a member leh. Anyone can lend me? anyway it's a book on risk management.. nothing to do with religion. hahaha

went back to East Coast after eating and pit-stopped at Bedok Jetty. those NS kias jus made themselves feel so much at home and went straight to slp lor. i sat there to enjoy the view and lots of things went thru my mind.. shall not talk abt it la full of crap.

yea.. damn xiong today.. have to carry the goods up to the shelves and den stack it properly.. height of the shelves are slightly above my head and since i'm the one of the tallest there, i have to stay at the bottom to pass the goods up... sounds easy hor? the heaviest piece weighs 12kg.. meaning it is the same as doing 25 reps of shoulder press with 12kg weight.. more xiong den gym workout.. hahaha anyway i'm paid for it

heh.. played with the pallet jacks and took some photos..

Me in action.

After action.. cartons of chocolate properly stacked

Monday, February 28, 2005

hahaha... went to report for a new job at Kaki Bukit today and it's a really enriching day.. saw many things tat i have never seen b4 and met people whom i have never met b4.. hahahaha fucking funny man. basically my job is a warehouse mover and i move chocolates! tons of it lor... and i mean TONS of it

yea.. and tis is the first thing i saw tat amused me...

this is called a cargo lift. max load 4000kg which is equal to 4 tons. and notice tat it is a double layered door. interesting.

I was standing at the ground floor receiving the goods taken down frm the warehouse and in charge of loading it into the trucks. and those truck drivers are fucking funny people.. all are ah nehs frm Big Foot Logistics. there were a total of 8 trucks which means there were arnd 14-16 ah nehs.. hahahaha. den when they were idling tat time, i can tell u they are fucking bo liao ah nehs... they played with the Pallet Jacks and raced arnd with it making hell lots of noise laughing. i see liao oso buay tahan

den after tat they started to be damn serious cos it's late liao and they wan to go back fast.. so they parked their pallet jacks in frnt of the lift.. the moment the lift open up they poke their jacks into the lift liao... and of cos in the process they oso laugh like fuck.. hahahaha why are indians so funny

This is a Pallet Jack.

This is the right way to use it.

And this is wat they do with it.

Went to the new warehouse with the truck.. and we had to push the truck so tat the engine can start lor.. den on the way back i noticed something really funny.. when the ah neh drove past some chio bu on the street, he would honk and den look at her.. and tis happened twice. hahaha cb.

the new warehouse is situated at Tampines St 93. reached there and slacked for abt an hr cos they were ppl to receive the goods over there.. so we (JJ and me) went up to the warehouse and found ourselves alone up there... so we (or rather, me) decide to steal some of the chocolates.. hahahaha so exciting.

knocked off exactly at 6. went to TM with JJ to find a digital watch. had dinner and went looking arnd but cant find any nice ones. den we went to Times and I decided to spend my pay on a book entitled "The Intelligent Investor". paid using MasterCard. and i asked JJ to see me sign the receipt. HAHAHAHAHA

after tat went S&K and got a t-shirt each at $10... went into the same dressing room to try the t-shirts... hahaha fucking gays.. i got the black t-shirt and JJ got the dull pink one.. hmm i think their workmanship seriously suck... but come to think of it, $10 nia leh, wat u expect? ya.. and i paid using MasterCard again! wahahahaha and i was complaining to JJ tat the machine is not left-hander-friendly cos the electronic pen is located at the right-hand side of the machine.. wahahaha why am i so xia lan

and i went home feeling damn happy. LOL

+ Nets or Master, Sir? +

haiz.. today is my last day with Suntec City Carpark liao... even though it's only 2mths i feel tat i learn alot frm tis job and the ppl arnd me... esp Uncle Joe... always there to guide me along when problems arise..

can't forget the first week i entered tis job.. Uncle Joe was always there accompanying me and telling me so many of his life stories.. abt the downfall of arrogant ppl, his life, the world he has seen and many many things tat i have nv heard of in my entire life...

tis job has really let me have a taste of how harsh real life is. there are many rich ppl who are fuckin bastards always having the thought that we ppl owe them a living... but they are really great learning tools for me. i appreciate their presence.

and many of those delivery men who did not forget abt the hard work we put in to ensure the smooth flow of the carpark.. they would nv forget to smile and wave at me whenever they drive past, no matter how hard-pressed for time they were... these are the people i will remember...

28 Feb will mark the end of Suntec Carpark Yellow Vests.. wish them all the best in watever they do... btw we all have codenames... i'm Charlie Ong.

ok... i'm so enlightened by Mr Lee Kiat Haw... have u ever wondered why are there so many people who believe in horoscopes? does it really tell us our personality? does it really tell us what will happen today?

This is what Mr Lee said:
u really believe that our lives are controlled by stars that are millions of light years away?
those stars and their patterns means absolutely nothing to us.

here is what my book of horoscope says
-it says that astrology doesnt tell your future, but brings out the 'real' you-
u see anything wrong with that statement?
you think for yourself
why does the book say that and the readings in newsapers tell you otherwise?
newspapers tell you what you will experience for the day and the book tells me that it doesnt predict the future
but do you think by any chance in the world we would become part of these stars that are millions of light years away?

another thing...
the signs are invented by early men who travelled by sea and needed these stars for navigation
does it mean they have discovered the biggest wonders of nature that stars controll our lives and should be awarded the nobel prize?

HAHAHA i met a 70+ yr old uncle in MRT today and i can tell u he is the most humourous ah pek i've ever seen... until now i'm still laughing like fuck man... hahahahahahaha

imagine a typical 70 yr-old ah pek, wear like an ah pek carry umbrella and a fake Nike pouch.. den suddenly his fone rang... ~Nokia tune~ "aiyah.. shld be some cheapo fone la", i thought.

den he looks into his pouch and takes out his fone slowly like a typical ah pek.. i down there bo chap until tat guy beside mi go "WU LAN EH!" knn it's a Nokia 6260!! ~_~

flips open his fone slowly and i got another shock.. tis ah pek speak english one worh...

ah pek: "hello, i in MRT now.. ya. ten thousand ah, ok"

me: omg.. wtf ten thousand? this uncle talk like sipei powerful sia.. or he saying he only got ten thousand sperm left?

not long after comes a second fone call.

... after listening very long, ah pek says: "why ur bloody voice sound like a woman now huh?"
at this point, u can see quite a few people breaking into a smile.

... still as cool, ah pek says: "i now in MRT, u expect me to come in a helicopter is it?"
everyone is laughing away right now.

i am chio frm Tanah Merah to Tampines lor.. cb tis is the first time in my life i see such a humourous ah pek.. so cool.. take out fone slowly, open slowly, listen slowly, den open his mouth and make the whole MRT laugh like fuck.

As the EZ-link card reader go 'beeep' instead of 'trruut trruut', u noe tat u have entered a new phrase of life.. For me, i have entered working life and it really is much stressful den sch life... have to slog so hard for tat little pay to support myself and my family. but i'm not going to complain for I understand tat my parents have been working much harder in the past to support me through so many yrs of my life and education. now my chance to repay them has finally arrived.

I start to appreciate the value of money.. mayb it's all due to changing so many jobs in a short period of time... Was a salesman at Sitex for 2 days in Nov'04, went job hunting for half of Dec and going to 3 job agencies, worked for less than a wk at Eagle Global Logistics (fucking company) as a data entry worker, carpark warden for 1 day at Suntec... I realised tat jobs doesnt come easy.. went through alot of hard work to get a job and was very stressful as my family is waiting for my money to pay off lots of bills (the bills have all turned pink lol)

Now, I dun spend tat much anymore. I calculate whether things are worth paying for and keep asking myself whether i need this or that or do i jus want this or that. Tat promotion price of $3.95 for a 2-piece meal at KFC does not seem to be tat cheap afterall. To all those who have not had a taste of working life... pls dun be a spendthrift like mi in the past.. appreciate watever ur parents give u.. I really regret it..

2005
I will be a filial son to my mother. will earn enough before enlistment date so that she can work less while i'm in the army.. will earn more so tat the joint investment account with Kiat Haw will come into exsistance (to those network marketing people, let's see who has the last laugh after 5yrs, or the day u lose all ur money, whichever is faster).

ok, jus these few plans for 2005 cos i'm going to plan further den tat now.

Year 2005 shall be a fruitful one for me... I'm not going to look back at 2004.
