We are in the last few hours of 2007 and this is my 200th post to end off the year. I believe our pyrotechnics teams are standing by to ignite away our tax money at the last second of the year, giving people false hopes for the next 366 days and repeat the same cycle over and over again.

Before I prepare in the new year ahead, I will review this previous year to see what have I done and what is there to improve. And obviously I'm not someone busy typing off their "new year resolutions" and leave it to rot for the next 366 days and set a new one year after year and achieve nothing. Stupid.

I would say 2007 is a fruitful year for me as there is a big change in my lifestyle. Some important events that happened....

January - I took on my first job since army as a cook apprentice at Cahaya. I didn't learn much of cooking but certainly learnt how to suffer and pick up some household skills that are important.

6 Feb - Officially got back my freedom from army. Closed a colourful chapter of my life with nice people and a wonderful army experience. A new chapter begins and it proved to be the turning point of my life. All the events that happened later would not have occured if I was still in the army.

19 Mar - I was hired by GE Money. It was the first job that I needed to put my little intellect to use. Got to know great people and formed a clique that I believe will be still around for decades to come. The kind of bonding that I do not know if I can find in my future workplace.

Apr - I gave up my love for cycling.
Apr - Started a small business with Kiat Haw selling some stuff. A very easy business that proved to be profitable, in the process having learned how to operate and maintain it.

June - Got my laptop.

2 June - Attended Mayday's concert sitting in the first row. Had one of my dreams come true. An unforgettable experience.

4 June - I met Low Chui Wah.

9 July - We got together.

1 Aug - I turned 21 with my colleagues celebrating this day with me. No longer can I wish that people put the "promising youngster" label on me. I'm not young anymore and obviously I wasn't good enough to be called a "promising youngster".

13 Aug - I got my Class 3 license.

31 Aug - Went back to school. This time with a totally different mindset, with the drive to obtain a first class honours. Made some lousy school mates though.

24 Dec - First christmas spent with my other half. It was good to be able to spend time together on this special day. Bought a pair of couple watches.

Thoughout the year, I cultivated a good habit of reading with the help of Kiat Haw who will always walk into a book store and Liting who lent me a library book during a weekend at work. I never stopped borrowing books ever since. Going to the Central Lending Library at least once a week to read the Asian Wall Street Journal with my darling is something that I enjoy doing very much, being able to acquire knowledge together. And I'm happy that I gave up soccer betting. And trash TV.

For the new year I just hope that I can keep my habit of bringing a notebook everywhere I go so that I can pen down my ideas and things that I don't want to forget. And learn trading. Not the stock market but forex.

Have a fruitful year 2008 ahead everyone. Huat ah!

Tis' a season to be jolly? Lalalala lalala

Think this is the most joyous xmas ever.. I never believed that christmas is a day for me cos I'm not christian and I don't see a reason why everybody should celebrate this day like a national day, but it seems that it's quite fun to jostle among crowds and shop for gifts... It surely contribute to our economic development with all these consumer spending..

With all people coming together to make merry on this day, we spent the day together by staying away from the crowd to somewhere without any christmas trees or lightings. Went east coast park with our empty stomachs to capture the setting sun and took some really beautiful pictures..

Headed down to Parkway's City Chain to get the pair of watches that we have been eyeing for some time on this special day and were quite taken aback by the extent that the staff were willing to go just to close our deal. The deal was closed with a further $20 discount, with me getting the male pair at Parkway as the female pair is out of stock. The Parkway manager had to liase with the Suntec manager for us to go down to collect the other pair, so we proceeded to Suntec after our dinner to get it, only to realise that they gave us the box that don't belong to the series we bought. So I made some noise to ensure we get the nicer box, they tried their best to liase with another branch that is convenient for me, I had to go down to the Tampines branch to get it the next day. I find it rather fun, but I think I was more "fan" (troublesome). Definitely a memorable process with three branches and don't know how many staff involved. Hahaha

Walked home from the MRT station at 1030pm, saw a number of people walking in the opposite direction heading towards the station, looking eager to countdown to xmas at their preferred destination, most probably one with a electrically decorated christmas tree. And by the way, I don't really believe the idea of counting down. Why do anyone like to count away that few seconds of your life?

I was quite bored staying at home today so I went surfing at SIM website. I don't think anyone of a rational mind would be doing that. I did. Was trying to find my lecturers' profile. Then out of total boredom, I went to google their names.

I found that my PBF lecturer Jonathan Peh is quite a well known educational figure in Singapore. Of course, there are many other students who blogged about him as well (me included, now). None of the comments about him is positive. They were saying things like he cannot teach well, keep talking about stocks and things that are not in the syllabus. I say these people are stupid. PBF is such a simple subject that you don't need a lecturer at all. There he is trying to teach people how the financial world looks like and you don't appreciate it simply because you don't understand. All these words sound so valuable to me but somehow it makes no sense to many of the rest with their brain already programmed to be shut for PBF lectures. You say he's a lousy lecturer, I say you are stupid. (Remember, you are entitled to your opinion, so am I). Just because of that reason, I think he should not be teaching children of this level. It only tarnish his reputation, which he doesn't have any in SIM to start with.

If you are studying Banking and Finance with the notion that a degree of any class can get you a job in the banking industry earning loads of money, I can confirm that not only are you stupid, you are damn naive as well. Most probably you will be in demand for that administrative position in that mini bank. I wish you all the best for the next pay rise.

So, my advice to you people who claim you don't understand shit and he's wasting your time, stop coming for his lectures and spare me some silence so I can learn. If not, shut the fuck up and listen. Shame on you, undergraduates.
Few days ago when I was walking home, I passed by this carpark and saw a very dirty white car. It's really very dirty. Dun believe? Look

I need a vision board. I need to restructure my thoughts, my ambitions. What needs to be there in the process of success, what needs to be there at the end of the road. My Five Year Plan. First class honours. CFA. Car. $80k net worth. Some elements are missing.

I am sure right now is the toughest period of my life. Don't be mistaken. Study is not tough at all. With the correct motivation and drive, I don't see anyone who don't achieve. Humans are intelligent. You do not know how to use your brain.

Financially. 2009 will be the end. Money won't be a problem anymore. I graduate in 2010. Don't ask how am I going to do it, you won't understand. Only the universe and I understand. We communicate in a language only both of us understand.

The question you ask, "Can you make it?" See for yourself.

I can't get to sleep.

Rap:
