ok.. finally able to sit down and blog peacefully.. computer was down due to a minor porblem which i thought was very serious. was suspecting a problem with my harddisk, motherboard or graphics card, in the end was the stupid IDE cable nia. no wonder ppl say go army will become stupid
last update was a month ago so i gonna summarise all the "exciting" events in one entry...
first up was Exercise Nutcracker. tis was the last outfield exercise in SISPEC where we had to dig, dig and dig with helmet on for safety purposes. 2 people must dig a hole chest-level abt 7m in length. digged for 2 days 2 nights without any sleep at all and injured my hand which until today still haven recover. worst thing was we had to march back abt 5km after the exercise with our Full Battle Order (abt 17kg) in the heavy rain... thinking back i really dunno how i survived it..
last activity before graduating frm BSLC was the 32km route march. it's another test of our physical and mental strength as we marched thru the nite frm 9pm to 6am. it was like an endless road with ppl not cooperating (shag cannot think wad). had to encourage each other on and remind them not to fall aslp during breaks as it would be very difficult to get going again. as usual the weather was against us again. it rained at 2am and we had to change the route which resulted in us walking more. as they said, "36th BSLC wat, so must walk 36km lor"
Life in Tekong ended jus like tis. as usual, i did not achieve my objective of going to OCS even though i graduated frm BSLC as top 10% of Foxtrot company. asked my PC why wasnt i chosen for the interview, he gave mi a very simple answer tat my physical fitness is fucked up OCS sure dun wan mi one. ok lor hope i stay for ASLC and continue fighting for it lor. in the end i got posted out to Combat Engineers. cheebye
so now i'm leading a whole new life at School of Combat Engineers (SOCE). it's until i got to tat place and saw the Officer Cadets train and i got to a conclusion tat officers are really no big deal except they are a bunch of fit and obedient bastards. like wat Warrent Lim say, officers of our army dunno their groundwork well. the reason why officers are so respected is bcos of armies in other countries where soldiers have to work their way up frm a sergeant to warrent officer then finally convert to a commision officer, which is not the case for singapore (mayb only for Commandos and Divers). so why are Specialists better? we are bonded closer to our men and know our stuff well. sometimes even officers have to ask us how to do things. and i still believe tat even though i'm only BSLC-trained, i can lead those sucka OCTs out for patrol missions and fuckin make them concuss. so mayb we shld slowly change the idea that being an officer is far better than Specialist. as long as u can influence ur men, produce desired results and high morale, u are a good leader. and i shld accept that i'm not fated to be an officer... open mouth only all vulgarities liao where got officer like tat one?
With Pride I Lead.
